WHAT IS KAMBO
Kambo is a natural secretion from The Giant Green Monkey Frog . Scientist refer to it as the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog, found in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. These remarkable frogs, which have no known predators, are abundant and thrive in the protected areas of the rainforest. For centuries, Amazonian tribes have used Kambo as a form of “hunting magic,” relying on it to sharpen their senses, boost stamina, and energise their bodies before heading into the jungle. Beyond its use for hunting, Kambo has also been a trusted remedy for treating infections, malaria, fever, snake bites, and for clearing panama, a term used to describe negative energy or bad luck believed to block one’s path to well-being. Kambo contains a potent blend of bioactive peptides and neuropeptides that offer powerful healing for the mind, body, and spirit. Renowned Italian pharmacologist and two-time Nobel Prize nominee Vittorio Erspamer once described Kambo as “a fantastic chemical cocktail with potential medical applications, unequalled by any other amphibian.” Erspamer, who first researched Kambo in a lab setting, was also responsible for the discovery of the neurotransmitter serotonin and for identifying and studying more than 60 new chemical compounds.
Bioactive Peptides Found in Kambo

Phyllomedusin
Phyllomedusin stimulates the contraction of smooth muscles and increases secretions throughout the digestive system, including the salivary glands, stomach, intestines, pancreas, and gallbladder. This peptide plays a key role in inducing the deep purging that occurs during a Kambo session, aiding in the body’s cleansing process.
Phyllokinin & Phyllomedusins
These peptides are potent vasodilators, increasing the permeability of the blood-brain barrier. This allows them—and other active peptides—to reach the brain more effectively. In addition to this, they have antimicrobial and antifungal properties, helping to protect the body from harmful pathogens.
Caeruleins & Sauvagines
Contain 40 amino acids affecting smooth muscle function, particularly in the colon and urinary bladder. By stimulating the adrenal cortex and pituitary gland, these peptides enhance sensory perception & increase physical endurance. Helps cope with pain, stress, fatigue, physical and emotional challenges.
Dermorphin & Deltorphin
These small peptides, composed of seven amino acids, are incredibly potent. Dermorphin is 4,000 times more powerful than morphine, and Deltorphin is 40 times stronger than the body’s own endorphins, making them highly effective for pain relief.
Adenoregulin
Adenoregulin works through adenosine receptors, which are crucial to cellular energy. This peptide holds promise for targeting conditions such as depression, stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s by helping regulate cellular function.
Dermaseptins
Dermaseptins are a class of antimicrobial peptides that protect the frog from microbial invasion. These peptides combat bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and protozoa. Remarkably, research has shown that Dermaseptin B2 and B3 can kill certain types of cancer cells by inhibiting the growth of tumour cells.
Bradykinins

Bombesins

Ceruleins
Ceruleins stimulate the secretion of gastric fluids, bile, and pancreatic enzymes. They could be useful with conditions such as paralytic ileus and are employed as diagnostic tools for assessing pancreatic function.
Tryptophyllins
These neuropeptides, composed of 4-14 amino acids, offer new insights into brain function and hold promise for deepening our understanding of how the human brain operates.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING AND AFTER A KAMBOO CEREMONY
My Kambo ceremonies are conducted with deep reverence, lasting about three hours in a nurturing space where you feel safe, supported, and seen.
In a Kambo session, small points called ‘gates’ are carefully made on the skin with a natural incense stick, touching only the surface layer, like the top of a blister. Typically, 3-5 gates are opened, and you’ll drink about 1.5 liter of water before the Kambo is applied.
Once on the skin, Kambo’s effects are felt within minutes, peaking for around 20-25 minutes. You may feel a warmth spread through your body, followed by a increase in heart rate and tingling in your lips and tongue. This may lead to feelings of lightheadedness, achiness, and occasional nausea, similar to flu-like symptoms. While purging is common, it’s not required; Kambo’s healing peptides begin their work as soon as they’re absorbed.
Purging occurs as Kambo activates the brain’s natural detox response, encouraging the release of what your body no longer needs. This cleansing process helps clear physical and energetic blockages, leaving you open to deeper healing and renewal.

IS KAMBO LEGAL?
Yes, Kambo is legal in Canada and most other countries. As long as responsible facilitation continues.
HOW IS KAMBO SOURCED?
As Kambo International practitioners, we are committed to using Kambo that is ethically sourced from a trusted tribe, with whom our founders have built a strong and respectful partnership. During the collection process, the frogs may experience some temporary stress, but they are handled with the utmost care and are never harmed or kept in captivity. Treated with reverence, these sacred frogs are promptly released back into their jungle habitat. The Phyllomedusa bicolor, the species from which Kambo is derived.
IS KAMBO A PSYCHEDELIC, IS IT SAFE?
Kambo is not psychedelic, it is a traditional Amazonian medicine known for its intense, detoxifying effects on the body. Unlike psychedelics, it doesn’t alter perception but supports holistic healing through physical cleansing.
Kambo is safe when facilitated by a well-trained practitioner.

The following is a list of contraindications for Kambo:
* Serious heart problems (i.e., major heart surgery, coronary stent)
* Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
* Currently taking medication for low blood pressure
* History of stroke
* History of brain hemorrhage
* Aneurysm or blood clots
* Serious mental health problems such as bipolar, BPD, and schizophrenia
* Within 6 weeks of chemotherapy
* Currently taking immunosuppressants for organ transplant
* Addison’s Disease
* Epilepsy
* Recovering from a major surgical procedure (must wait a minimum of 6 months before receiving Kambo)
* Recently taken Bufo of 5-MeO-DMT (must wait a minimum of 6 weeks before receiving Kambo)
* Pregnant or breastfeeding

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY KAMBO CEREMONY?

It’s essential to fast for at least 10 hours beforehand and to hydrate well the day before, as this prepares your body and spirit for the experience. After booking, you’ll receive further guidance on how to align yourself for a meaningful, safe, and supportive ceremony.
WHAT IS SANANGA?
Sananga is a potent eye medicine that can be used before, during, or after a Kambo ceremony, Sananga enhances both physical and spiritual vision, boosts energy, and, It guides you into a calm, meditative state by easing mental chatter and relieving anxiety, leaving you relaxed and ready for the ceremony. The experience generally lasts 10-15 minutes, a drop is applied to each eye, this is optional part of your ceremony.
